A Black Hole and A Pulsar Thought to be Detected Orbiting One Another; Possible First for Science

January 14, 2001  Astronomers believe they have detected the presence of a black hole and a pulsar in orbit about one another.  if so, this will prove to be the first observation of such a binary system, and the system should prove invaluable for studying the curvature of space and time in a strong gravitational field.  BBC Article.
