Bulk of Human Genome Sequenced

June 26, 2000  Two scientific groups report that they have mapped the "first draft" of the human genetic code. President Clinton and Prime Minister Tony Blair hailed these findings, as did scientists all over the world -- some predicting that this will lead to cures for many diseases and great advances in medicines.
