and Look for Life on Mars

September 18, 2000   Scientists at the Jet Propulsion laboratory are working on a burrowing system that might be able to tunnel through Martian soil at a rate of ten meters a day.  But power is limited and many challenges exist.  Yet, if water is to be found, tunneling for it appears to be the most logical solution.
